I’m Nicholas Dean, crafting the digital future from sunny San Diego.
Hey there!
I’m a web developer with tech in my veins, a journey that kicked off in server rooms at NCR, where I tagged along with my dad. Imagine a kid entranced by a web of cables, sparking an obsession with computers that still fuels me today.
It all truly began when my dad and I rebuilt a laptop together—a bonding moment that set my future. By 2001, I was into web development, tweaking game skins, and getting by on AOL trial discs. Fast forward, and at 14, I was building websites with PHP chat forms. Through phases of 3D modeling, animation, and finally a front-end developer role, my skills grew, leading to back-end systems that transformed our order and inventory handling.
Now, I’m based in Oceanside, CA, where I lead development, creating smart systems that make life easier. My journey, from those early server rooms to today, shows just how far a little “nerding out” can take you!
Why NRDNOUT?
Picture this: My wife and I are cruising to her parents' place, chatting about how I could expand my freelance work. Suddenly, we’re spitballing names for my business. Then she drops this bomb: "You’re always nerding out at home!" I laugh, and then it clicks. My initials spell out "NRD." She lights up and yells, "NRDNOUT!" Boom – business name born right there in the car.
